ICANN has released the latest registrar-by-registrar report for the .com namespace, based on official Verisign data supplied to ICANN. The dataset is published with a three-month lag; the figures below cover March 2026.
Key takeaways from the March 2026 report:
- Approximately 4.0 million new .com domains were registered in March, up from 3.2 million in February.
- The top four registrars for new .com registrations remained the same as the prior month. Beyond them, GMO vaulted into fifth place with 197,038 new registrations compared with 69,610 in February, nearly tripling its monthly adds. Cloudflare also posted a notable increase of roughly 50,000 new registrations.
- GoDaddy and Namecheap both recorded substantial month-over-month gains. GoDaddy added nearly 100,000 more registrations than in February, while Namecheap rose by over 80,000.
- Cosmotown entered the top 10 for new registrations, driven by aggressive first-year pricing—.com registrations were listed at $8.59 in the period covered.
- The top 15 list for total domains under management (DUMs) remained unchanged in composition.
