User domain name sales up to $420,000 — 31 end

A vacation rental site paid dearly for a .de domain name.

End user domain sales over cash register drawer

My heart skipped a beat when I saw the top .com sale on Sedo’s sales list this stretch. I previously owned buno.com, which sold for $95,000. I sold it for pennies.

Granted, that was back in 2005. A great deal has happened to domain name values over the past twenty years. And the person who bought it from me sold it to someone else, who sold it to someone else…still, it stings a bit.

Another notable sale on this stretch’s Sedo list is watch.now for $79,888. .Now is having a moment, and it remains to be seen whether or not it’s just a moment. For a top level domain to have sustained momentum, people must use the domain name. Witness .io, .ai, and even .xyz (once crypto adopted the domain).

We don’t know who bought either of the domains mentioned above, so let’s move on to what this column is regarding: verified end-user sales.
