Regarding 15% of domains in latest GoDaddy auction have bids

GoDaddy’s no-hidden-reserve format offers insight into investor valuations.

One of the advantages of an auction without hidden reserves is that you can get a good sense of the investor market value for each domain. It’s a “wisdom of the crowds” scenario.
Consider the current GoDaddy (NYSE: GDDY) featured auction that ends on Tuesday.
There are regarding 1,000 domains. When I initially reviewed the list, I found it to be lacking.
But people have found nearly 150 domains they believe are worth bidding on. And 57 have at least two bids, showing even greater confidence in the value of the names.
While most bidders wait until the end to bid, this shows a decent level of interest in the domains.
As of 2:30 pm PT on June 16, the top domain is CloudMagic.com for $7,100. The auction started at 1,799. It has 31 bids from seven different bidders.
Budgie.com has the second highest bid, coming in at $6,600 with 19 bids and seven bidders. The auction started at $3,499.
Roughly a dozen of the 170 registry-owned .io domain names have bids.
The auctions end on Tuesday and Wednesday at staggered times.
