Always check the domain name

This spoof site is easily identified by the domain name.
I was browsing the web today when a fresh window popped up on my screen. It looks like a Business Insider article with the headline:
Trump Battles the FDA Over Bill Gates’s Breakthrough Discovery! States “This WILL NOT Be Banned, The American People Have A Right To Have Access To This”
This is a bizarre headline even for Business Insider. It’s also an exceptionally realistic looking page: there’s a “hot” ticker that continues to increase, market updates, and a section full of Facebook comments.
It’s a fake page, though. The article is pitching a product called Neuro Blast. Commenters claim “it’s a true miracle” and “I am amazed following using Neuro Blast”. But the dead giveaway is the URL:

Apparently, Fox now owns Business Insider and has switched to a .today domain name.
The links throughout the article all lead to siteupdate(.)services, which forwards to NeuroBlastToday(.)com. The URL string has an affiliate ID in it but that might just be for tracking. All three domains were registered at Namecheap and use CloudFlare.
This is just another reminder of how notable a domain name is. Google is starting to downplay the domain name and URL in search results. Making sure it’s visible makes it easier to spot fraud.
