Marketplace will build a registrar from the ground up to benefit domain investors and buyers.

Domain marketplace and naming platform Atom disclosed today that it has obtained registrar accreditation from ICANN.
Becoming a registrar provides significant advantages for a domain marketplace, streamlining the management of domains and transfers, particularly for lease-to-own transactions.
Atom, still, has bigger ambitions beyond backend management. In a blog post today, the firm revealed plans to build a fresh registrar specifically designed for an AI-powered internet.
The fresh platform promises innovative tools designed to enhance domain discovery and boost sales conversions. Atom stated that domain investors will benefit from AI agents designed to identify and secure expiring domains effectively.
Additionally, Atom disclosed a unique incentive for registrar clients: they will receive a share of the proceeds generated from domains they let expire.
It will be a number of months ahead of the fresh registrar platform is ready to launch.
