GoDaddy now fully functional with Afternic: Big news

Fast Transfer integration is good news for all domainers that sell domains with fixed prices.
It’s been almost a year since GoDaddy purchased Afternic, and domainers can finally realize a huge benefit of the buyout.
Starting later today, GoDaddy will be fully integrated with Afternic as a “Fast Transfer” partner.
This means two things for domain name investors:
1. If you have domain names listed for sale at Afternic’s Premium level, your domains will get more exposure.
Your fixed-price domains will show up in GoDaddy’s registration path when someone searches for the domain. They’ll be able to purchase your domain similar to a fresh domain registration, and the domain will automatically be transferred into the buyer’s GoDaddy account (regardless of where you registered the domain).
Previously, Afternic domains were presented as an option in the registration path at GoDaddy, but clients had to click over to GoDaddy Auctions to buy the domain and the transfer was manual.
2. If you register your domains at GoDaddy, you can now opt-in to sell your domains through the Afternic Premium network.
And if your domain sells through Afternic, you won’t have to manually transfer it to the buyer.
Ahead of this integration, you had to use GoDaddy’s Premium Listings service to get this level of exposure and instant transfer at the world’s biggest registrar. Even then, your sales listings weren’t syndicated to Afternic’s vast network of partners.

GoDaddy’s Fast Transfer integration with Afternic is a win all around for domainers that use Afternic, whether they register their domains at GoDaddy or not. All fixed priced domains listed on Afternic at the Premium level will get more exposure than ahead of.
GoDaddy clients that have used GoDaddy Premium Listings will also benefit. They can get even more exposure than ahead of while paying a lower commission (20% compared to 30%) by moving their fixed price listings to Afternic. If you have domains listed on Premium Listings, it makes sense to remove those listings and add them to Afternic Premium.
For now, GoDaddy Premium Listings will remain a service. I suspect it will go away at some point since it’s redundant with Afternic.
Personally, Afternic and GoDaddy Premium listings account for the bulk of my annual sales volume, and I expect this integration to increase my sales.
