Domain name for $2.4 million — BigCommerce buys

Ecommerce business forks over seven figures for domain name.

BigCommerce (Nasdaq: BIGC), the Shopify competitor that helps clients sell stuff online, purchased a domain name for $2.444 million in Q1.
The firm disclosed the purchase in its financial results for Q1 published yesterday.
While the firm did not disclose what the domain name was, I suspect it was commerce.com.
In February, DNJournal noted that Larry Fischer and Ari Goldberger had teamed up to sell the domain name for $2.2 million. With commissions, the buyer could have easily paid the $2.444 million BigCommerce noted.
Furthermore, as stated by historical records at Tucows, commerce.com transferred from Tucows to SafeNames in Q1. SafeNames is the registrar that BigCommerce uses for its main domain name, BigCommerce.com.
Commerce.com does not right now resolve to a website.
