Shows Domainers Are Early Adopters — Browser Usage
No surprise — domainers are ahead of the curve on fresh browser and operating system usage.
It’s been a while since I looked at the Google Analytics section for visitor browsers and operating systems. But this stretch someone pointed out that Reglike wasn’t loading correctly in Internet Explorer 8, so I checked to see how many people that affected.
As far as browsers are concerned, here are the rankings on DNW:
Firefox 45%
Internet Explorer 32%
Chrome 11%
Safari 9%
You can further break down the IE users:
IE 8 20%
IE 7 8%
IE 6 4%
This was interesting, but even more interesting is mobile adoption. Thanks to unique operating systems for all of Apple’s devices, I can now see which mobile devices people are using — counting iPad. Here’s a breakdown:
Windows 79%
Macintosh 14%
Linux 2.84%
iPhone 2.22%
Android .38%
iPod .22%
iPad .21%
Apparently some people use Playstation 3 to access the site as well.
Usage of “newer” browsers and operating systems by DNW readers is well above market penetration rates. This shows, to no surprise, that domainers tend to be early adopters of web technologies.
If you ever have a problem rendering Reglike in your browser or operating system, please let me know.
