Hits £11.2 million in first half of year — CentralNic revenue

Revenue grows thanks to .sk buyout.

Domain name firm CentralNic (London AIM:CNIC) noted earnings for the first half of 2018, posting revenue of £11.2 million. That’s up from £10.6 million in the same period of 2017, although comparing across time periods is difficult with CentralNic since it grows by buyout.

For example, the buyout of Slovakia’s .sk country code domain added £1.6m to the top line. So organic revenue was actually down year-over-year. H2 numbers will be even more convoluted due to the buyout of KeyDrive.

Retail revenue generated from its registrars counting Instra and Internet.bs was down £1.2 million year-over-year. The firm stated this was expected as the “division continued to realign and optimise its online marketing strategy for improved return on investment, resulting in higher margins and profitability despite reduced revenue.”
