DNW Podcast #199: Crowdsourcing (domain) name selection

This crowdsourced name selection service could be the missing link between firms and the domain aftermarket.

dnw-podcastI have a fascinating discussion this stretch with Darpan Munjal, founder and CEO of SquadHelp.com. This firm helps businesses select fresh firm and product names with the help of a crowd of name suggesters. It’s been quite successful; it was #247 on this year’s Inc 5000 list and generated $2.5 million in revenue, mostly from naming contest fees.

Late last year the firm added a domain name element to its business that could be very interesting to domain name investors, especially those that invest in brandable domains.

Ahead of chatting with Darpan I have a brief interview with Abner Duarte, who is organizing the Domaining Americas conference in Brazil in October.
