Pixel Capital buys domain names to enter online travel market.
Australian firm Pixel Capital Pty Ltd disclosed the prior week that it had purchased Accommodation.com and Accommodation.co.uk for a combined $528,000 USD.
Both domain names were owned by a British firm and were developed at one point.
Although the transaction is finalized, Pixel founder Roland Bleyer told Reglike that the deal is owner financed over multiple years. In other words, Pixel is still making payments.
The seller also confirmed the sale to Reglike.
The deal did not specify a purchase price for each individual domain name, but Bleyer stated he pegged it around 440,000 for the .com and 88,000 for the co.uk.
This isn’t Pixel’s first big domain name purchase. It bought CreditCard.com.au for $160,000 AUD in 2009 and CreditCard.net for $138,000 USD in 2011.
