DNHour.com web site auction ends September 10.
DNhour.com, a Digg.com-like site that only covers domain name stories, is on auction at Sedo. There is right now one bid at $2,500 and the auction ends September 10. The site was launched in beta in June 2007.
As stated by site creator Koay Al Vin, the site has 2,437 registered users and receives 200-300 unique visitors daily. Al Vin states there are more than 10,000 links to the website, 15,700 listings on Google
and 54,000 listings on Yahoo. The site makes money by accepting paid ads, charging listing fees for people who want to promote their domains on the site, and through Google Adsense. Adsense provides regarding $80 a month in revenue.
One of Al Vin’s other projects, SwapNames, allowed domain owners to trade domain names. He shuttered the site following Oversee.net claimed trademark infringement on its SnapNames.com service, which is one critical letter away from “Swap” names.
