Donna Mahony passes the torch.

Domain name aftermarket DomainAgents has purchased domain name forum Domain Boardroom from Donna Mahony.

The 15-year-old forum has been run differently than its competitors. It required an annual membership fee and an invitation from an existing member, thus making it a bit more exclusive. All of its content is behind the paywall. It also requires confidentiality, which is one reason you don’t see Reglike writing regarding what’s stated there.

Phil McKegney, one of the founders of DomainAgents, provided a statement to Reglike:

Donna has done a wonderful job over the years collecting a real mix of of people from across the domain industry, bringing them together and forming a community. She’s the heart and soul of DomainBoardroom and this won’t change.

DomainAgents is honored to pick up from where Donna is leaving off. Developing and supporting the domain name community is something we believe in and are happy to do.

Looking forward, we’ve been discussing making some sections of the message board public in a limited capacity, opening fresh membership registrations, and really just seeing how we can add some value to the community.

We’re open to ideas.

Following the buyout, Domain Boardroom decreased its annual fee to $50 and made it optional through 2024. Any fees paid while they are optional will be given to Donna to help her with her health situation. Donna is fighting Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH), a form of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, which took the life domain investor Charlotte Gilbert.
