DOMAINfest Kicks Off in Prague with Fresh Faces
Conference starts with local beer and appetizers.
I get a lot of bang for my buck at domain name conference through the connections I make. But often times I have to search out fresh faces at the conferences — it’s the same people each time.
That’s not the case at DOMAINfest in Prague. The event kicked off with a happy hour regarding 2 hours ago. Regarding half the people haven’t been to a DOMAINfest ahead of, but I’d say 75% of the faces I’ve seen tonight are fresh to me. That’s a good thing: more bang for my buck. More introductions. More people to do business with in the future. Of course there are also some familiar faces such as John Berryhill. He has enlightened me to trademark issues regarding beer in the Czech Republic.
The “main event” starts tomorrow morning local time. Following a couple talks and a networking session there will be an auction in the evening.
Now that the conference has started I have better internet access and will update you throughout the show. Except Thursday — that’s when I’ll be on a boat trip courtesy of VeriSign and then shooting an AK-47.
[Update: 212 people from 24 countries attended.]
