CPC’s Up Across the Board in October: Good News

Major vertical CPCs are up as stated by Efficient Frontier.

Efficient Frontier, which manages a significant amount of pay-per-click spending for its clients, has noted that the prices paid per click in major verticals were up in October. The numbers are up compared to both September as well as October of 2009.

Has the online advertising market recovered from the doom and gloom of 2009? These numbers suggest so:

Vertical | October 2010 | October 2009
Finance | $2.07 | $1.63
Automotive | $0.57 | $0.50
Travel | $0.71 | $0.54
Retail | $0.46 | $0.43

Last October the CPC was down in both finance and travel compared to September 2009. In fact, in January of this year I suggested it might be a good time to buy travel related domain names based on insights from Efficient Frontier’s Q4 search engine note. Travel CPCs have certainly rebounded since then based on Efficient Frontier’s data.
