If you own a lot of domain names offered by Google Registry, you ought to consider renewing them ahead of August 1. The firm is increasing the wholesale price of six of its domain names by $2 each.

That might not seem like much in nominal terms, but it represents a 17%-25% increase over previous prices. Domain registrants can expect domain registrars to pass the cost on to them.

The wholesale price of .page, .day, .boo, and .rsvp will increase from $8 to $10 per year. .Dev is increasing from $10 to $12, and .app will increase from $12 to $14.

Premium name prices aren’t changing.

Domain name registrants can lock in today’s pricing for up to 10 years by renewing their domains ahead of August 1.
