Hot gossip: media firm demands GossipGirl.com domain name

Alloy Entertainment wants the GossipGirl.com domain name.
Alloy Entertainment, the firm behind the Gossip Girl books and TV show on CW, has filed a complaint to get the domain name GossipGirl.com.
The complaint was filed with World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) under the uniform domain name dispute resolution policy (UDRP).
The domain name was originally registered in 2004 1998. It expired earlier this year, and was then registered by someone in Greenville, Mississippi, as stated by whois.
The domain name receives a couple thousand unique visitors per month, as stated by Compete.com.
This isn’t the first time Alloy Entertainment has gone to WIPO to get a domain name. In 2009 it won a case for VampireDiaries.com.
