Enabled two-factor authentication on GoDaddy.com yet? — Have you
Two-factor authentication reduces changes of being phished.
The prior week a “modest number” of Go Daddy clients were affected by a DNS attack.
The firm suspects the affected accounts were subject to phishing accounts or the users’ computers were infected.
The simple solution to avoiding this from happening in the future is to use Go Daddy’s two-factor authentication.
With two-factor authentication, when you sign in to your account you’ll get a temporary code sent to your cell phone.
There are two problems with Go Daddy’s current two factor authentication that may prevent you from using it.
First, it’s only available in the U.S..
Second, if you log in to your account a lot (e.g. heavy Go Daddy Auctions users) then it might be inconvenient.
That stated, if you live in the U.S. and don’t log in to your account more that once a day, I highly recommend implementing two factor authentication.
Oh, and that goes for your Gmail account as well.
