How Estibot’s fresh tool compares to dotDB

Estibot launched a fresh tool that competes with dotDB.

When people hear the name Estibot, many think only of automated domain appraisals. But as I’ve posted ahead of, the firm offers a lot more tools for domain investors.
Earlier today, domain investor Mike Cyger posted a video showing Estibot’s fresh Registered Domain Search Tool, which is very similar to DotDB.
There’s a fresh competitor to @DotDBcom
And it’s from the maker of @Estibotcom
So now when you need to know the number of TLDs an SLD is registered in, you have another data point

I use dotDB’s tool and find it very helpful. While the free version is OK, much of the value comes from the paid version that lets you see which registered domains in each extension are developed.
One gripe I have regarding dotDB is that many of the “developed” indicators are misleading. It shows many domains as developed when they forward to another site or land on a for-sale page.
Estibot is more conservative regarding what it marks as developed. Perhaps it swings a bit too conservative.
When I searched for a couple of my names, DotDB marked regarding 8-10 domains as developed that aren’t developed. At the same time, Estibot missed a couple for each search. So, while Estibot was more accurate, it overlooked some domains that I’d like to know are developed.
I recommend trying both of these tools to see which one meets your needs. I think you need the $100 dotDB plan to get much value since that’s the level to sort by development status. Estibot is less expensive.
