Will the bitcoin.xyz auction go? — How high

Auction tops $10,000 with 11 days to go.

.Xyz has become the de facto top level domain for web3 projects, and few words are as notable to web3 as bitcoin.

So an expired domain auction for bitcoin.xyz at Namecheap is worth watching. With nearly 11 days to go, the auction has by now topped $10,000. Nine bidders have placed 29 bids.

Bitcoin.xyz is a premium .xyz domain, which means the buyer will have to pay an additional $3,250 on top of the final bid price, and then pay that amount every year to renew the domain.

Although bitcoin is a huge term for web3, it’s worth noting that the top sales in .xyz aren’t web3 terms; they are one-word domains used as brands for web3 projects. Wrap.xyz, capital.xyz, profile.xyz, and sportsbet.xyz have sold for six figures this year.
