ICANN terminates modest domain name registrar

Registrar didn’t respond to breach notice.

ICANN has issued a notice of termination (pdf) to the domain name registrar Brennercom Limited.
The firm was previously known as Webhosting24, Inc.
Its website states that it typically works with firms that have 500 or more domain names. It also boasts that it offers 1,000 top level domains. If either of these is the case, it must have very few clients: it has 33 .com domains under management, as stated by the latest data from ICANN.
While technically domiciled in Delaware, the firm’s website uses the British spelling for ‘organization,’ and its founder appears to be in Italy.
ICANN terminated the registrar for failing to implement Registration Data Access Protocol (RDAP), failing to escrow ownership records, and a host of other violations.
Domains right now at Brennercom will be transferred to another registrar.
