Strange domain registrations related to natural sweetener.

Someone is playing defense with a fresh sweetener call monatin.

Monatin is a natural sweetener that contains no carbohydrate or sugar.

And some firm is getting ahead of the curve on defensive domain registrations related to Monatin. The following domains were registered through brand protection firm Mark Monitor this stretch:

monatinconspiracy.com
monatinsideeffects.com

I’m not 100% sure who registered the domains. But it’s worth pointing out that Cargill has filed a patent application for a sweetener that includes monatin. It is also the registrant of Monatin.com (and .net, .org, .biz, .info, and .us).

So does monatin cause cancer?

Every time a fresh sweetener comes on the market people start questioning if it causes cancer. So this could just be a savvy ahead-of-the-curve move.
