Here, the asphalt is a shared canvas for an incredible array of vehicles and pedestrians: cars, buses, trucks, agile autorickshaws, bicycles, handcarts, and even occasional livestock, all vying for space without the apparent guidance of lanes or conventional traffic rules. Red lights often seem to be merely a polite suggestion rather than a strict command.

Yet, amidst this seemingly overwhelming chaos, an astonishing system emerges. The traffic somehow flows, a testament to an unspoken understanding among its participants. During my entire stay, I didn’t witness a single accident, a fact that speaks volumes about the collective adaptability and inherent respect (or perhaps sheer audacity) of Mumbai’s drivers and commuters. The trains themselves are a spectacle; with doors often left open, commuters can be seen hanging out the sides, catching a breeze and perhaps a better view as the train speeds along. The Directiplex serves as the central hub for all of Directi’s diverse businesses, housing a formidable portfolio of companies that are leaders in their respective fields. These include ResellerClub, a global provider of domain registration and web hosting solutions for resellers; LogicBoxes, which offers highly scalable technology platforms for domain registrars and web hosts; Skenzo, a renowned ad-tech company specializing in traffic monetization; BigJumbo, focusing on premium domain names; and Media.net, one of the world’s largest ad-tech companies by revenue. My primary collaborations are typically with the latter three, making my in-person interactions particularly crucial for strategic alignment and project advancement.

Among the various businesses, the Directiplex also proudly hosts the operations for Directi’s relatively new domain registrar, BigRock. During my time in Mumbai, Directi co-founder Bhavin Turakhia offered a captivating presentation of BigRock’s innovative television commercials to hundreds of enthusiastic employees. These advertisements, crafted with a keen understanding of local culture and humor, might require some cultural context for international audiences. However, judging by the uproarious laughter and positive reactions from the crowd, they are incredibly effective at capturing the attention of the Indian market, making thousands laugh and, more importantly, encouraging them to register their domains with BigRock. This initiative highlights Directi’s strategic focus on market penetration and brand building within India and beyond.

Future Expansion and a Vision for Talent

Directi’s commitment to growth and providing an exceptional work environment is further evidenced by its ambitious expansion plans. Later this year, the company is set to inaugurate another state-of-the-art building located across town, designed to accommodate an additional 800 employees.
