A bonanza for iGaming: NameJet expired domain sales

A lot of expired domains are bought to send traffic to online casinos.

Back with the July SnapNames sales list, and you’re never gonna believe this: more casinos!
The through-line of these reviews is going to continue to show you just how many expiring domains with traffic end up in the iGaming space. You used to see closed-down-restaurant domains reviewing spatulas and linking to Amazon with affiliate links, or organizations or charities with terrible .org domains being used to push CBD products for that sweet affiliate income, but Google (and LLMs, but long ahead of AI it was Google) largely killed the widespread use of aged domains to build affiliate sites by overweighting the SERPs to favor established sites like authoritative newspapers, magazines like Good Housekeeping, and big review sites like G2 to rank for the affiliate terms the modest aged domains were targeting. This shifted the SEO conversation to Parasite SEO, but that’s a conversation for another day.
All that to say: this is another post regarding how expired domains became casino sites.
GoodwoodBrewing .com sold for $6,086 at SnapNames
To change things up, this one became a Turkish gambling site. It’s the most interesting name since of what happened with its keywords and how they went regarding implementing this.
Here are the keywords they ended up ranking for:
| Keyword | Volume/mo | Position | Est. traffic |
|---|---|---|---|
| güvenilir bahis siteleri | 122,000 | 1 | 90,310 |
| bonus veren siteler | 126,000 | 1 | 37,301 |
| deneme bonusu veren siteler | 75,000 | 1 | 27,661 |
| deneme bonusu | 35,000 | 2 | 9,703 |
| yatırımsız deneme bonusu | 5,800 | 1 | 9,591 |
| deneme bonus | 26,000 | 1 | 9,286 |
| çevrimsiz deneme bonusu veren siteler | 11,000 | 1 | 7,526 |
For one month.
Seriously, one month. Look at this Ahrefs traffic graph:

You can’t really see it since of the disparity in keyword count, but most of its history leading up to August 2026 was regarding 2,000-4,000 organic visits per month, all from brewery-related keywords.
It expired in July and sells at auction for $6k.
The very next month it goes to 500,000 organic visitors.
I see a lot of enterprise, speaking-circuit SEOs who point at something like this and say, “Look! 500k organic traffic for one month and then it crashes. Google will always find out your aggressive SEO tactics and take action against them; this short-term thinking is destructive and totally ruins a good domain.”
Sure. And okay, that was a straw-man argument, but I spend enough hours on X per day to tell you that’s a very common attitude. Maybe what these iGaming people are doing doesn’t make much sense to you, and I get it, but the value of any traffic going to 500k, even for a month, is substantial. Relate it to gambling and the huge amount of money in this niche, and one month of 500,000 organic visitors going to an affiliate site can potentially generate.
Probably worth the $6k purchase price.
Not to get too deep into the SEO weeds here, but they did this by spinning up subdomains like:
- wc.goodwoodbrewing .com
- wb.goodwoodbrewing .com
- etc.
The expired domain itself was the authority asset. Rather than building everything directly on the root, they could spin up effectively unlimited sub-sites beneath it, allowing them to silo different campaigns while still benefiting from the domain’s existing history and authority signals.
That also gave them some risk separation: if one subdomain got suppressed or deindexed, they could burn it and move to another without rebuilding the entire operation.
Eventually Google appears to have caught up with the broader domain anyway, which is where the play stopped working. One month.
AfroPunk .com sold for $9,250 at NameJet
Sometimes I’m genuinely sad to see where a good name with an amazing backlink profile ends up.
The name itself defines a cultural movement, and the referring domains are a who’s who of huge media sites:
- Forbes
- NYTimes
- CNN
- BI
- NPR
- Time
- Wired
- Huffpo
- LA TImes
- FastCo
You get it.
I’m honestly shocked this one stayed below $10k. It’s a decent name (I’ve seen multihyphenate .orgs with less good SEO go for more).
Now you might think this ended up as a stupid casino site.
Wrong! You are so wrong.
It actually just redirects to a casino site. 🌈
Infinite-Energy .com sold for $6,501 at NameJet
Here it is, the place where Afropunk.com’s SEO juice ends up:

French casino!
It’s almost a sure thing that the same firm bought both of these names, and as I covered in the June NameJet and SnapNames post, this is a bit of a tactic (for a data point of two).
Right now, it does not rank for any keywords.
xFront .com sold for $6,600 at SnapNames
This site used to be Roger Costello’s XML tutorial site and looks like it was built, oh, sometime in the early 1970s?

Notably, this is not actually a casino site.
This is a better example of what someone outside of iGaming might do with an expired domain, which is to rebuild it to be more modern-looking, add some fresh and better content (I didn’t do a super in-depth audit to confirm this, but it’s what you ought to do), and then… ??? and then profit.
I don’t actually know what the plan for this site is, but it is rebuilt and looks pretty sharp with its vibe-coded vibe, literally the least you can do.
The site owner is remaking old pages with fresh content (good), like this:

It’s also starting to rank for things. Nothing super amazing or valuable, but you want to see those organic keywords tick up slowly (slowly is sustainable).
It’ll be interesting to see what the plans are for this site. Could end up being a solid AI play if they have something worth ranking for or selling.
ConnorDavidson-ResilienceScale .com sold for $5,850 at NameJet
Classic example of a name that sells for more than it’s worth ($-27) and lets you immediately clue in that it’s an SEO name when it clears mid-four-figures at auction.
But the Connor Davidson Resilience Scale is a specific thing. Here’s a definition I took from Google, which they took from the NIH, and I didn’t even have to visit the website to get this info- thanks, AI Overviews!
a self-noted 25-item questionnaire used to measure an individual’s psychological resilience and ability to cope with stress, trauma, or adversity
The site doesn’t right now resolve for me, but it’s ranking for some keywords related to the CDRS (the actual acronym is CD-RISC) and has some truly fantastic education and medical-related backlinks. Wild that someone paid almost $6k for it to just sit there and lose value…
Moovly .com sold for $5,805 at NameJet
This domain’s authority is thicc, a DR of 71.
It used to be a video creation product, and right now it redirects to DropCatch.com.
Wait, what?
Yes. The domain finished at NameJet for just under $6k, but it was auctioned at DropCatch for $12,166 on September 7th, as stated by NameBio. Maybe Andrew can explain why this happened with a quick editor’s note:
Editor’s note: DropCatch told Reglike this was a user auction. The domain has not been paid for yet despite a number of requests, which will lead to the buyer’s account being permanently suspended.
I decided to write regarding this name specifically since it illustrates (again, with a low data point but still) something I’ve long believed:
NameJet and SnapNames get less attention from SEOs looking for expired domains with juice compared with DropCatch and GoDaddy. The same name, a few months later, went for double at DropCatch than what it did at NameJet, even though the site was down and losing value for a longer period of time.
The Full Picture of SEO Domains From NameJet and SnapNames From July
Historical DR is measured on July 31, 2026, rather than an unverified auction or expiration date. Current DR and keyword figures were retrieved on September 20. Keyword totals use Ahrefs Site Explorer’s dated note across all countries and subdomains, counting rankings in the top 100 organic results. The table includes exactly DR 15 and applies the threshold to current DR.
