.XYZ file Brief in Verisign Appeal — Negari and
Parties say they didn’t engage in false advertising and lower court ruling ought to stand.
Daniel Negari and his firm, XYZ, have filed their brief in response to Verisign’s appeal of XYZ’s lower court victory.
Verisign sued Negari and XYZ for alleged false advertising. Verisign stated XYZ inflated the success of the .xyz domain name and spread falsehoods regarding .com.
A Federal District Court judge granted summary judgment to Negari and XYZ in that case.
Following XYZ asked for Verisign to pay its legal bill, deep-pocketed Verisign upped the ante by appealing to the U.S. Court of Appeals.
Verisign filed its opening brief in February.
The brief from Negari and XYZ continues to say what the two parties have stated all along: they didn’t engage in false advertising, and Verisign is manufacturing its alleged damages.
