Fresh Atom app makes it easier to respond to domain offers

Atom Seller app provides a simpler way to complete most common tasks.

Atom launched a dedicated iPhone app last month.

Following using it for a week, I think it has a number of benefits over using the atom.com website, especially while on the go.

Let’s face it, Atom has so many features that its website is difficult to use. The app strips things down to what you do most often and shows the most notable data.

For example, the home screen shows you:

  • Hot domains in your portfolio that are getting activity
  • Which domains have repeat visitors
  • Fresh domain matches to other startups
  • Easy navigation to appraisals and listings

The Daily Briefing section is interesting. You can choose to see a daily or weekly briefing that includes:

  • Which domains are hottest and why (e.g., repeat visitors, shortlist, offers),
  • How many searches your domains appeared in
  • Extensions that funded firms just started using

There’s also a chatbot called Atom Command that lets you ask questions regarding your portfolio.

I asked Atom Command to show me all of my unpriced, make offer listings.

All of this is nifty, but I think the best reason to download the app is how much easier it is to respond to offers.

Without the app, it works something like this:

  1. Get a text and email regarding the app
  2. Click through, usually opening the site in the Gmail app browser, and log in
  3. Do two-factor authentication
  4. Takes you to the Atom dashboard
  5. Click the alert button at the top to find the transaction

In the app, you get a push notification that takes you directly to the screen to respond.

This was also helpful when I sold a domain the prior week while traveling. I got push notifications on my phone and could communicate with the transfer team directly in the app.

Overall, I think the app is a helpful addition.
