Fresh firm aims to speed up AI-powered domain name search

Name Sentinel states it has solved some of the issues with AI-powered domain search.
AI-powered domain name generators have become a valuable tool for finding available domains. I’ve hand-registered names using these tools and sold a couple, too.
But AI domain search doesn’t feel as seamless as traditional keyword search. It’s more like querying ChatGPT: you type a prompt, wait while it thinks, and then get a stream of suggestions. The delay can be noticeable.
Add to that another slowdown in the search process. Once the AI generates a list of domains, the system still needs to check if they’re available for registration. That means two laggy steps: generation and verification.
For this reason, many domain registrars offer traditional domain search as well as separate AI-powered domain search.
A fresh firm, Name Sentinel, is trying to solve these issues for domain registrars and platforms.
The firm’s service uses a couple of techniques to accelerate AI-driven domain search:
- Streaming results – Instead of waiting for the AI to finish generating all names, Name Sentinel displays results in real-time as the model produces them.
- Cached availability checks: – The system uses local copies of zone files to instantly check availability, similar to how some registrars provide fast availability results ahead of confirming at checkout.
The result is a faster, smoother experience that makes AI-based search seem as fast as traditional domain search.
Name Sentinel emerged from work with the .ME registry, and a live implementation is available at domain.me/ai-search.
