Fresh domains and ccTLDs also benefiting from Pokemon Go craze

Lots of Pokemon domains are being registered in domains other than .com.
The prior week Elliot Silver at DomainInvesting wrote regarding the surge in .com and .net registrations counting the word “Pokemon”. At the time, nearly 4,000 .com and .net domains had been registered.
As of this morning, that number has grown to over 7,000 for the month, with 6,300+ in .com.
But .com and .net aren’t the only top level domains benefitting from the Pokemon Go craze. GoDaddy shared a breakdown of Pokemon registrations by top level domain name. Although it didn’t provide raw numbers, GoDaddy is the biggest domain name registrar by far, which puts it in perspective.

Registering Pokemon domains might not be a good move, still. It’s a trademark.
