Domain name auction kicks off at SnapNames — .NYC tech

Latest themed auction features tech and entrepreneur domain names.

Today marks the official start of the tech-themed auction of .NYC domain names at SnapNames.

The auction follows on the heels of a successful .NYC auction at SnapNames for fashion domain names. Fashion.nyc led that auction in February, selling for $37,000. Shop.nyc was close behind at $33,500. While the whois for Fashion.nyc hasn’t been updated yet, domain name investor Larry Fischer picked up Shop.nyc.

26 domain name are up for grabs in the latest auction that ends on May 18. Each name has a reserve of no more than $500, and many of the names on the list ought to sell for substantially more.

Among my picks are Startup.nyc, VC.nyc and apps.nyc.
