Patenting domain name processes
A patent was recently granted to an Ohio inventor that relates to domain names. The system/method allows people to search for a domain name and other registerable names at the same time (e.g. vanity phone number, license plate, etc). There are a number of firms using similar features within domains, but not extending outside the domain realm to other naming devices.
Is this worthy of a patent? It’s typical of fresh software and business process patents. What are your thoughts?
