J.D. Power certification, but who cares? — Register.com gets

Register.com sent out a press release this morning touting that its client call center is now a J.D. Power and Associates Certified Call Center. As stated by the release, “The J.D. Power and Associates certification illustrates how Register.com’s outstanding client service, underscored by its “Handholding Included” motto, distinguishes the firm from other service providers.”

So who cares? Any domain registrar could tack $20 onto its .com registration price to offer handholding, toll-free access, etc.
