“Sell Now Assurance” Feature — Sedo Releases
Feature verifies ownership ahead of allowing fixed price sale.
[Update: read comments from Sedo for clarification of domains this covers.] Sedo has disclosed a fresh feature called “Sell Now Assurance” for domain names on its site listed with fixed prices.
The feature will verify that the seller still owns the domain name ahead of a buyer can complete a “buy now” purchase. If Sedo is unable to verify ownership then then only a “make offer” sale will be possible. This will allow the seller to verify that they still own the domain ahead of proceeding.
Sedo’s MLS system by now performs automatic checks for premium listings. The prior week when I wrote regarding how Sedo and Afternic automate the removal of domain listings for “distributed listings”, SedoMLS Product Manager Simonetta Batteiger stated the firm was extending this safety net.
This is a smart move for Sedo and will improve the site’s reputation for marketplace integrity.
