More domain extensions with .eu and CentralNic deals — SedoMLS gets
Sedo adds three ccTLDs to distribution network.
SedoMLS, the domain listing distribution system for Sedo, has signed up fresh registries that will enable it to sell more types of domain names.
The prior week Sedo disclosed a partnership with EURid, the .eu registry, added the .eu domain extension to the SedoMLS Premium network. [Sedo was able to do this since EURid, the .eu registry, made its transfer system automatic.]
Today the firm disclosed a deal with CentralNic to add a number of “top level” domains to SedoMLS.
I put “top level” in quotes since only two of the added domains are true top level domains. The others are pseudo top level domains.
The two real ones are the country codes .pw and .la. Officially, these are the country codes for Palau and Laos, but they are marketed as “Professional Web” and “Los Angeles” respectively.
The other domains are really second level domains that look like ccTLDs but run under existing .com, .net, and .org domains. Examples include .cn.com, .jp.net, and .us.com.
For .eu, .pw, and .la, the addition to SedoMLS ought to mean a more vibrant aftermarket.
