Sedo has brokered the sale of shop.app for $200,000.

This is the highest sale ever noted for a .app domain name, which is a domain name extension introduced by Google in 2018. As stated by NameBio, the top sales to date include ZB.app for $91,000, Support.app for $30,000 and Dispatch.app for $15,000.

It’s still a far cry from the top sales across fresh top level domains in general, though. A number of domains have sold for a half million or more counting online.casino, vacation.rentals and home.loans.

Shop.app is right now being transferred to the fresh owner.

Shopify is a potential buyer—it owns the domain name ShopApp.com. Update: Shopify was the buyer.

There are right now 680,000 registered .app domain names in the zone file.
