Blu-RayOutlet.com: Stupid Press Release of the Week
Nothing screams “trademark infringement” like a press release.
Add this one to the bonehead press release of the year department.
“Web publisher” James Moore is auctioning off the trademark domain name Blu-RayOutlet.com and told the world regarding it in a press release.
Blu-Ray Disc, of course, is a trademark. And I doubt any UDRP panel would let this one slip through.
At the TRAFFIC auction in Orlando, BlueRay.com sold for $30,000. Following the sale, an investor next to me leaned over and stated, “yeah, but the legal costs will be just as much as the domain cost.”
But the Blue-Ray Disc Association need not worry regarding some nefarious party picking up this domain at the eBay auction. Moore has a beginning bid price of $250,000 and a buy now price of $1,000,000. Um, don’t all bid at once.
