Sunday evening domain reading

A ridiculous lawsuit, firm naming, ICANN, and more.

I was going to write an entire snarky post regarding this lawsuit (pdf) against GoDaddy. It’s alternately hilarious and, and the end of the day, sad. Basically this former employee sued with a bunch of off-the-wall allegations, such as suffering anxiety and mental anguish since he didn’t know which firm employees had stock options in the firm. He even stated the firm promotes violence. His proof: some joker pulled a chair out from under a supervisor as he was sitting down. The plaintiff wants $10 million +. Sigh.

Lego never ceases to amaze me with the volume (and targets) of UDRP filings it makes.

A smart quip from ICA’s Philip Corwin in response to my joke that ICANN ought to have just had fresh TLD applicants Fedex their applications.

As I’ve mentioned ahead of, I think ICANN’s technical problems with TAS will result in questions regarding its ability to execute “digital archery”.

I wonder if NameCheap overtaking GoDaddy on Google for “domain name” has anything to do with all of NameCheap’s +1s on Google.

An in-depth explanation of why you need to name your startup smartly (and choose your domain accordingly) over at The Next Web. Written by a domainer, but good exposure for the domain industry.
