I’m off to Los Angeles this morning for a number of days of meetings with area domain name firms. Today I’m meeting with ICANN and Thought Convergence, and have a number of meetings set up over the next couple days.

Los Angeles is one of the “domain name centers” in the United States, with a number of of the largest domain name related firms in the area. The other big domain name center is southern Florida, where you’ll find Moniker, Parked.com, and a number of others. In Boston you’ll find Sedo and Name Media. I’d also count the Pacific Northwest: SnapNames in Oregon, DomainTools and Enom in Seattle, Dotster, and various firms in Vancouver.

I hope to make it to more of these domain centers over the coming year. For now, it’s off to Los Angeles.
