Name Wire stories of May 2013 — Top Domain
Ron Paul, GoDaddy, and a video game domain name took top billing last month.
May was a busy month at Reglike thanks in part to a former politician losing a battle to claim his name on the web. Here are the top five stories:
1. Breaking: Ron Paul found guilty of reverse domain name hijacking – Ron Paul not only lost his UDRPs for RonPaul.com and RonPaul.org, but the panel in the .org case stated he was guilty of reverse domain name hijacking. The cases were some of the most interesting I’ve ever read.
2. Ron Paul loses disputes over RonPaul.com and RonPaul.org domain names – Google Ron Paul. (I’m I the only one who doesn’t know what those signs are regarding?)
3. GoDaddy gets two patents for domain appraisal – USPTO grants to patents to GoDaddy related to domain appraisals and spinning.
4. Electronic Arts buys BF4.com for Battlefield 4 (and other end user sales) – EA buys domain for latest domain name in Battlefield series.
5. Who’s this fresh GoDaddy girl? – The GoDaddy.com home page no longer has a celebrity spokesperson. It’s a regular client.
