Trademarkia and Atom have settled a trademark dispute involving the domain name trademark.io. The firms filed a notice of voluntary dismissal on Wednesday.

Legalforce, the owner of trademark search site Trademarkia, sued Atom just weeks following the domain name platform launched a trademark search tool on trademark.io.

The firm alleged that Atom’s choice of name for its service infringed its Trademarkia trademarks.

Shortly following the service launched, IP attorney John Berryhill noted there could be an issue. Prior to the lawsuit, Atom changed the name of its trademark platform from Trademark.io to Trademark by Atom, but continued to use the same domain name.

Legalforce’s lawsuit also incorrectly alleged that Atom owned trademark.ai. That domain was owned by entrepreneur Dharmest Shah, who later transferred it to Trademarkia.

Details of the settlement between the parties have not been disclosed, but Atom is continuing to use the domain name trademark.io.
