The past, and what happens in the future: Unstoppable Domains’ growth

Fresh pricing might take some of the wind out of Unstoppable Domains’ growth, but it has made itself a household name.

The prior week, Unstoppable Domains increased prices.

This is notable since the registrar used below-cost pricing to gain market share in 2025.

The strategy worked; the registrar started 2025 with fewer than 20,000 domains under management. On the Reglike Podcast 13 months later, Unstoppable CEO Matthew Gould shared that the firm had 750,000 domains under management.

Using official data from Verisign, Unstoppable’s trajectory in 2025 was clear. The chart below shows its .com domains under management through November 2025, which is the latest official data published by ICANN:

The growth is more stark when looking at monthly fresh .com registrations:

Now, for the firm’s next challenge: Unstoppable needs to retain clients as many hand registrations come up for renewal, and its prices are higher.

On the pricing front, Unstoppable will still offer very low pricing, often below cost. Fresh .coms and transfers are $7.99, subject to limits. .Com renewals are $10.99.

It’s unlikely that domain investors will consistently find better pricing elsewhere. That stated, the higher prices will probably take the edge off of hand registrations. I know some people jumped into hand regs last year specifically since of the $5 (and then $5.99) pricing. Also, other registrars will probably offer registrations at around $7-$8 during the year, creating competition for fresh registrations.

In addition to hunting for clients, Unstoppable spent the last year improving its product. From a domain investor’s perspective, it seems to have the key ingredients at this point. It’s part of both the Afternic and Sedo distribution networks. The management console is fast and intuitive, and I haven’t run into any major issues.

Unstoppable will likely face some headwinds on growth with its fresh pricing. But it’s now a household name among many domain investors, which is something no one stated a year ago.
