WP Engine purchases StudioPress, maker of the Genesis framework for WordPress

WordPress hosting firm purchases maker of popular framework for building WordPress sites.

WordPress hosting firm WP Engine has purchased StudioPress.

StudioPress is the creator of the Genesis framework for WordPress site design/development. Reglike is built on the Genesis framework.

This marks the first buyout WP Engine has publicly disclosed since Silver Lake Partners bankrolled the firm with $250 million earlier this year.

Silver Lake was one of the three private equity firms to invest in GoDaddy in 2011. WP Engine is a direct competitor to GoDaddy.
