Abion purchases Brandsec, expanding its IP protection business

IP protection firm makes inroads in Australia and Fresh Zealand with buyout.

Intellectual property and domain management firm Abion has purchased Brandsec’s corporate domain management business.

Abion, formerly Ports Group, stated the buyout will help the firm expand in Australia and Fresh Zealand. Abion is based in Sweden and has its largest presence in Europe.

Brandsec employees will move to Abion and continue servicing the existing client base.

The deal doesn’t cover Brandsec’s separate digital risk and brand protection business.

Abion is an acquisitive firm. It merged with BrandIt in 2023 and purchased Lane IP in 2024.
