And Envelopes.com now under one roof — Bags.com, Folders.com

Envelopes.com owner is expanding its empire based on category-defining domain names.

BigName Commerce has purchased the business that owns Folders.com, and has separately purchased the domain name Bags.com, the firm disclosed today.

The two businesses are in addition to its core Envelopes.com business. Envelopes.com sells envelopes and customized stationery.

Folders.com is an operating business that sells custom folders. For example, businesses can purchase folders with their logos on them or universities can buy diploma folders.

Bags.com is not right now an operating site. BigName has a splash page on the site that explains that it will sell custom gift bags, custom shopping bags, wine gift bags, plain & printed plastic bags, tote bags.

Purchase prices were not disclosed. I’ve reached out to BigName’s CEO for comment.
