Become an actual domain name — Booking.yeah could

The travel booking site wants to create the .yeah TLD following using it in commercials for years.
It’s been a joke among domain industry insiders that the firm promotes the non-existent domain name.
Well, the joke might end soon: the firm applied for .yeah in this year’s fresh top level domain expansion round.
Did the firm pay $227,000 for an entire top level domain just to use it for one second level domain? Time will tell.
It will be interesting to see if it is able to proceed as a dot-brand. The firm has a trademark for booking.yeah, but will it need one for .yeah?
Booking.com by now has two top level domain names. In 2012, it applied for the dot-brand domain .booking. It also paid $2.2 million to win an auction for .hotels.
