Domain registry now operating on Fury Platform — Canada’s .CA

.CA country code domain name transitioned to Fury platform.
Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) is now eating its own dog food: The registry for .CA domain names has transitioned backend services to its in-house Fury Registry Platform.
CIRA started offering the platform to other registries starting in 2016, picking up both .kiwi and .sx as clients.
Transitioning .CA to the platform took some time since there are 2.8 million .CA domains registered and 140 registrars sell them.
Fury uses a patent-pending tag system to assigning rules to domains.
During a session on .com pricing during NamesCon the prior week, CIRA President and CEO Byron Holland stated that the firm can offer registry services for between $1-$4 per domain.
