CentralNic (London: CNIC) has purchased Intellectual Property Management Firm, Inc. (IPM), a corporate domain manager.

As stated by IPM’s website, it is a joint venture with the United Internet Group of Firms. That’s the firm that owns IONOS, InterNetX, and Sedo.

The website lists OceanSpray, Rogers Corporation, and Guitar Center among its clients. It does not list any employees, but LinkedIn shows the firm is run by Albert and Darren Simpson.

CentralNic is paying $7.6 million cash for the firm. That’s regarding 7 times IPM’s 2021 Adjusted EBITDA, and 2.8 times its 2021 revenue.

The business will be integrated into the enterprise channel within CentralNic’s Online Presence segment.

CentralNic is a rollup of domain name and online advertising businesses. Over the past couple of years, it has focused on acquiring advertising businesses rather than domain firms, so this is a bit of a departure for the firm.
