Passes 1 million mark — .CN domain

China’s .CN domain has topped 1,000,000 registrations.

1.09M, to be exact, as stated by official Chinese news notes. For the record, that’s regarding one .CN domain per 1200 people in China. (The China Internet Network Information Center still shows only 976,253 domains registered, but that’s as of November 2005).

Now if we could just get the Chinese government to stop censoring web sites. Also keep in mind that if your web site is set up in China you need to register with the government.

You no longer have to live in China to get a .CN domain name. GoDaddy offers them for $39.95 per year.
