Firm that owns Entertainment.com files for bankruptcy
Firm enters chapter 7 liquidation.
Entertainment Publications LLC, the firm that owns Entertainment.com, has filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation.
You probably know the firm for its coupon books, which offered buy-one-get-one (BOGO) offers ahead of Groupon, Living Social, and everyone else got into the game. The catch is that you have to pay upfront for an Entertainment book and then use the coupons throughout the year.
So will Entertainment.com go up for sale?
As a chapter 7 bankruptcy filing the assets will be liquidated. But that doesn’t mean you’ll be able to buy this prime piece of internet real estate on its own. I suspect the intellectual property will initially be packaged together. [Update: I received notice from the firm that it is recommencing operations and there has been an offer to purchase the entire firm.]
Still, it’s worth keeping an eye on.
