The Leader in Me on the defensive (with domain names) — Franklin Covey’s

Domains related to criticisms of school program are registered.

I bet that if you look at any corporation’s domain name portfolio, you’ll find that 95%-99% of the domain names it owns are for defensive purposes.

Yesterday, someone registered at least 66 domain names related to Franklin Covey’s The Leader In Me Program for schools.

The Leader In Me is a program based on Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Happy Kids, a follow on from Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

Apparently, the program has a lot of detractors. They call the program indoctrination and cult-like, or question if it’s based on the Mormon faith.

The domain names registered yesterday at Mark Monitor are related to these criticisms, ranging from 7problemsleaderinme.com to theleaderinmecult.com. They all use Mark Monitor’s whois privacy service for whois.

Interestingly, Franklin Covey’s main domain names are registered at GoDaddy. But I suspect these registrations were undertaken at Mark Monitor on behalf of the firm.
