Sells close to 40,000 domain names in December — GoDaddy Auctions

GoDaddy Auctions tallied 38,841 domain name sales in December, as stated by preliminary numbers in the firm’s Domain Market Note.

The top reportable sale was Uber.org for $36,000. Although the whois record does not yet reflect the buyer, a likely buyer is taxi/black car service Uber.

58% of the domain names were sold via auction and 41% via “buy now” prices. A handful were sold by negotiation.

“Online” was by far the most common keyword found in the domain names sold.
